Overview
Electricity is essential in our daily lives because it is a basic human need. It has aided in the removal of darkness and increased human activity.
In essence, Kazang has partnered with a number of municipalities and electricity service providers/utilities to make it easier for our vendors and customers to obtain this basic need.
This article will provide you all general information regarding electricity that our vendors sell to our customers.
Vending Electricity
Vendors can easily vend electricity to customers from their registered Kazang device simply by following the below guidance steps:

Kazang Electricity Footprint

Our EasyPay partners has created a link to a living document that covers Kanzang's electricity footprint. This document includes all municipalities across South Africa that have partnered with Kazang.
Any updates to the document such as the addition of new muncipalities or the removal of some will be visible live on the provided document.
Additional information to remember when accessing the live document:
- The link has all the municipalities that are currently active on our database, meaning all the municipalities that we currently vend for.
- All of the municipalities that we have also disabled/inactive, those that we no longer vend for.
- With each municipality on the link, there's contact details that can be used by our clients to escalate any queries that are municipal related.
What does it mean if a municipality is restricted when viewing the living document:
The registered municipalities from time to time will add vendors to either their Whitelist or Blacklist. The electricity service offered by these municipalities are reserved for vendors that are currently on the whitelist.
List Name | Summary |
| Whitelist | Registered vendors that can sell electricity in the respective municipalities based on the location of the vendor |
| Blacklist | Vendors cannot sell electricity in the respective municipalities due to defaulting actions |
If the vendor has been removed from the whitelist, it means that they have defaulted on their electricity transactions history and the municipality has placed the vendor on their respective blackilist to avoid further defaults and transgressions. These vendors would not be able to sell electricity again unless arranged with the municipality.
Another valid reason for the vendor to be placed on the blacklist could be that they have not been approved to vend in the municipality, in which case they would also need to approach the municipality and ask to be added onto the white list.
Once this is done, then our technical team would add the vendor on to our whitelist and they would be able to vend in that municipality.
